We always strive to work with all groups within our community and therefore community projects are integral to our service delivery. Below is just a few examples of previous projects.
At SocietyLinks we created a history book in order to educate members of our community on Swedenborg Gardens and the history behind it.
We hold many of our events and services in Swedenborg Gardens, making it an integral part of our community.
The book travels from 1688-2020, titled Swedenborg Gardens: Then and Now. This allows residents to engage in research about Swedenborg Gardens and explore their local history, providing a sense of belonging within the community.
The cookbook project brought together 30 local women from eight different countries to talk about food and share their favourite traditional recipes. The women took turns to cook their chosen recipes which was then presented to the participants at a launch party and distributed to the community.
The project was successful in its mission to promote community cohesion and a more inclusive community. Take a look at our recipe Community Cookbook
SocietyLinks have been working with the residents of Shadwell as well as professional artists to compose three community mosaics. This is part of a community cohesion programme which aims to bring the community together, share experiences and learn new skills. Take a look at our SocietyLinks Exhibition Journey!
SocietyLinks has created a directory of local services after requests from residents and service users. Click on the link below to check it out and find all your local services.
